Palm Beach County's Best New Restaurants to Celebrate in 2022
Best of South Florida
Whether you're new to South Florida, a returning snowbird, or a longtime local, there's no denying we can all appreciate the region's flourishing dining scene.
In 2021, South Florida welcomed a diverse list of new and noteworthy developments. As one of America top resort destinations comprised of 39 cities and towns from Jupiter, West Palm Beach, and Palm Beach to Delray Beach and Boca Raton, travelers and locals alike now have more ways to enjoy the culinary diversity of The Palm Beaches.
This year, that means foodies can find a number of fresh, fun restaurant concepts alongside the area's flourishing arts, entertainment, and cultural scene as well as a long list of reimagined and renovated resorts.
Here, a list of South Florida's best new restaurants to open in Palm Beach County, worthy of exploring in 2022:
AlleyCat Izakaya — Boca Raton
South Florida chef Eric Baker, also chef/owner at longtime Boca Raton haunt, Rebel House, has teamed up with Sushi by Bou Beach Club partner David Bouhadana to deliver their take on a traditional Japanese pub experience in Palm Beach County. The idea: share a few small plates over a drink or two. The menu is split up into cold plates, hot plates, rice and noodles, meat, fish, and sushi. Try the king crab tacos and the shrimp crispy rice paired or sushi like the spicy scallop roll or the surf and turf roll with lobster and seared wagyu, then wash it all down with a cold beer. Love meat? The Japanese-style bacon, wagyu beef dumplings, or grilled short rib with black garlic pair perfectly with a crisp, clean bottle of sake. Or let the chef choose for you with the house omakase sushi option.
Uncle Pinkie's Deli — Boca Raton
Anyone craving pastrami-by-the-pound or bagels smothered in smoked fish should head to Uncle Pinkie's Deli, a new Jewish deli concept from South Florida chef Eric Baker. The menu of classics are inspired by Baker's Eastern-European heritage (and childhood spent on Long Island), making Uncle Pinkie's the spot for rroast beef, pastrami, and corned beef that is brined and smoked in-house, served up alongside deli items like open-faced bagels, stacked sandwiches, and smoked fish or deli meats sold by the quarter- or half-pound. Don't miss the noodle kugel, truffle knish with potatoes and leek, rugelach, or smoked trout topped with cucumber and pickled shallots on an open-faced bagel.
Sadelle's at The Boca Raton – Boca Raton
A Boca Raton outpost of this New York brunch institution stands as the first Palm Beach County location for Major Food Group, which opened its famous Carbone, Sadelle's, and other concepts in Miami in 2021. In Boca, the newest Sadelle's restaurant will cook up quintessential classics including stellar bagels, sliced-to-order salmon and sturgeon, and chopped salads, all in an updated and fun, yet refined fashion.
Coco Sushi Lounge — Delray Beach
This recent newcomer to the downtown Delray Beach food scene offers its take on sushi. The concept is the work of co-owners and husband-and-wife team chef Jason Zheng and Tina Wang, best known for their Yakitori Sake House in Royal Palm Place and Boca Raton, Saiko-i Sushi Lounge & Hibachi in the Shoppes at Village Pointe in Boca Raton, and Koi Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Lounge in the Harbor Shops in Fort Lauderdale. As with their other establishments, fresh fish is delivered daily, Monday through Saturday, and diners can taste the difference. Diners can feast on sushi, sashimi, and specialty rolls; inventive appetizers and nifty noodle dishes; and memorable main plates. With multiple seating areas, patrons can choose to enjoy their meal at a table or a booth, at the sushi bar or the cocktail bar in the expansive interior, or at a table on the outdoor patio.
Corvina Seafood Grill – Boca Raton
Washington, D.C. chef Jeff Tunks and business partner restaurateur David Wizenberg, both of PassfionFish fame, recently celebrated the opening of Corvina Seafood – named after the blush-hued fish found along the Central and South American coastlines. The 235-seat Corvina boasts panoramic indoor and plein seating, a private dining room for up to 32 guests, and an Instagram-worthy saltwater fish aquarium. The menu offers a flavorful, fresh seafood bounty from briny oysters on the half shell, Hamachi sushi rolls, whole local snapper and vertically spectacular seafood towers, along with an abundance of fresh, local and seasonal catches.
THRōW Social – Delray Beach
Delray Beach's newest dining, bar, and entertainment venue will open soon with live music and events. Avalon — Delray Beach
There's a reason the Angry Lobster (pictured above) at Avalon Steak & Seafood is a must-try dish. Since opening in downtown Delray Beach in April, the appetizer has quickly become the most popular on the menu. A bold take on this popular crustacean, the dish features a pound-and-a-quarter Maine lobster, served with a piquant broth redolent of sriracha and ginger, along with a hearty portion of Pullman toast to soak up those spicy juices. It's just one of the many specialties you can order at Avalon, the striking new restaurant from New York hospitality operators Host Restaurants. The Sunday brunch is worth to the west-end stretch of Atlantic Avenue.
Amar Mediterranean Bistro — Delray Beach
A quaint new eatery has opened in downtown Delray Beach where owners Nicolas and Susanna Kurban aim to take guests on a culinary journey through the Middle East by way of Lebanon. Step into Amar and you're immediately welcomed by the aroma of rich, fragrant spices and herbs. Part of it is thanks to the restaurant's wood-burning oven, the centerpiece of the intimate bistro, where handmade pita bread is baked fresh throughout service, allowing guests to soak up the flavors of the Levantine coast. Amar's menu offers classic cold and hot mezze like hummus, labneh, fattoush, kibbeh, falafel, spinach fatayer, a variety of grilled meats, kebabs, fresh fish, and signature dishes like stuffed eggplant.

Pagoda Kitchen will include traditional items such as dumplings, bao buns, wonton soup, Asian BBQ ribs, and lo mein from Emperor, who has spent more than 25 years learning the nuances of Asian cuisine, immersing himself in culture, language, history, flavors and ingredients.
